Greybeard Records was founded in 1979 by Shelton Skerrett and BEM Skerrett III. In the late 1990's, Greybeard underwent a name change and became Skerrett Recording Studios (SRS).
Greybeard/SRS recorded and produced a number of albums and a plethora of advertising & commercial work, some of which can be found here.
The tradition is carried forward with the reboot of Greybeard Records by Dennis Skerrett, the son/grandson of the two founders.
Dennis began working as a live and recording engineer in 1998, helping to produce works and albums under the Skerrett Recording Studios and RightNote Records labels. During that time, he began mixing national and international acts and was asked to become the house engineer at the Heymann Performing Arts Center, a 2200 seat proscenium theater/concert hall. Skerrett was later asked to manage the PAC, where he worked with and trained countless engineers, many of whom have gone on to tour internationally, or to own their own studios and production companies.
Since that time, Skerrett has become an a venue executive and an active member in the International Association of Venue Managers. In recent years he's added audio consulting to his repertoire, working for performing arts venues regionally.
Ownership of "Greybeard" was passed on to Dennis in 2024. A large inventory of Greybeard/SRS commercial reels and audio files are maintained (and available for remastering).
The primary focus for Greybeard moving forward, is to provide quality mixing and mastering for artists that are looking to release their works on streaming networks and/or physical media.
